New Canon imageRUNNER 2500 MFP range brings cheaper, high performance black and white printing, scanning and copying
Wednesday, 07 April 2010 00:00
Canon Copiers is pleased to announce the release of a new expanded range of Canon compact black and white A3 multifunction printers (MFP’s) – the long-awaited imageRUNNER 2500 series. The new range has been designed to provide the very best in cost-effective and productive printing, incorporating state-of-the-art scanners, printers and copiers into one device suitable in small-to-medium sized workgroups and organisations.
Advancements in Monochrome - Black and White Printing
The imageRUNNER 2500 series is replacing the iR2018/30 series with ten new compact highly productive MFP's. Productivity is in fact higher than ever in this class, with print speeds on the 2500 series of up to 45 pages per minute (ppm). Moreover these imageRUNNER’s bring superb responsiveness, with rapid recovery from sleep mode and first copies available in as little in 3.9 seconds.
Scanning capabilities on the 2500 series are quite outstanding too. Users can scan in colour quickly and simply and send to a variety of destinations - from network and FTP folders to email addresses, with Canon’s i-Send function. Devices in the 2500 range can also create a high quality compressed PDF files for quick and easy sharing via email.
Easier Usability - Love Your Photocopier
To improve efficiency and usability, the imageRUNNER 2500 series proffer large, intuitive touch screen displays and give users the ability to scan directly to USB memory key. Rapid double-sided printing and the option of inner staple finishing, can dramatically save on man-hours and help eliminate that stress-factor.
Proving once again that Canon really do think of everything, the imageRUNNER 2500 series has been built with what Canon have called ‘service-friendly’ design. A higher yield drum unit reduces maintenance times and requirements. And as these MFP’s are network-ready, IT administrators can monitor any device on the network remotely with iW Management Console. Seamless integration into systems is guaranteed by PCL and Postscript capabilities. And as with all other imageRUNNER devices, the 2500 series is compatible with Canon’s eMaintenance tool, which maximises uptime with remote diagnostic capabilities. Alloyed to the ‘service-friendly’ features, the 2500 series’ class-leading energy efficiency credentials – very low TEC ratings and Energy Star certification – mean very low operational costs indeed.
Streamlining Costs
Trevor Dodsworth, Head of Product Marketing at Canon Business Solutions, Canon UK, commented;
Now more than ever, organisations are looking for ways to streamline costs and increase productivity. Our new expanded range of compact black and white devices provides cost-effective black and white printing, copying, colour scanning and sending capabilities - all in a space-saving and user-friendly design
Not all organisations require colour printing solutions, especially smaller companies and legal and public sector organisations. The new black-and-white compact MFP series is designed to address the needs of this market with a high performance and cost-effective print solution.
The Canon imageRUNNER 2500 series of multifunction printer (MFP) includes the Canon iR2520, iR2020i, iR2525, iR2525i, iR2530, iR2530i, iR2535, iR2535i, iR2545, iR2545i. The series went on sale in Europe on 1st February 2010.
